Spirograph headband
A versatile and pretty headband or ponytail hat, Spirograph is great for when you’re active and outdoors but works just as well as a solution for bad-hair days. Knitted in the round from the brim up, this pattern includes two height options.

Skills Required 
Tubular rib cast on (optional), knitting in the round, single cables, using ssk to decrease, yo to create eyelets, casting off in rib. 
Tools and materials 
Yarn: 4ply/fingering: 130 (145)m/ 142 (158) yds – sample shown above right in Tukuwool Fingering or 
DK: 120 (135)m / 130 (148) yds –sample shown above centre in Socks Yeah! DK or 
Aran/worsted weight: 100 (110) m/ 110 (120) yds – sample shown above left in Triskelion Elmet Aran 
Tension: 4ply/fingering – 24st and 34 rows= 10cm/4ins on 2.75mm needles 
DK - 22sts and 32 rows = 10cm/4ins on 3.25mm needles 
Aran/worsted – 20st and 25 rows = 10cm/4ins on 4mm needles 
Needles and notions: 
4ply/fingering – Set of 2.5mm (US1½) dpns or 40cm circular needle and a set of 2.75mm (US 2) dpns or 40cm circular needle or appropriate needles to achieve tension and needle two sizes smaller. 
DK- Set of 3mm (US 2½) dpns or 40cm circular needle and a set of 3.25mm (US 3) dpns or 40cm circular needle or appropriate needles to achieve tension and needle two sizes smaller. 
Aran/worsted weight– Set of 3.5mm (US4) dpns or 40cm circular needle and a set of 4mm (US 6) dpns or 40cm circular needle or appropriate needles to achieve tension and needle two sizes smaller.
