Spitze is the German word for spike. By using spike stitches in interesting ways, this pattern creates a lovely headband.

Tools and Materials:

• 4.50 mm US 7 crochet hook – or appropriate hook to achieve gauge
• tapestry needle and scissors
• sport weight yarn (other yarn weights can be used, however, the number of foundation stitches used will need to be changed – see round 1)

Sizes: Sizes: Small, (Medium, Large), 51 (53.5, 56) cm 20 (21, 22) in circumference, to fit heads approximately sized 53.5 (56, 58.5) cm 21 (22, 23) in. Size can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of foundation stitches. Sample shown is size L.
