This pattern is fairly easy to memorize and it’s really neat to see the butterflies emerge. The k2tog and ssk lines form the wings while the lace pattern formed from the yo’s make the body of the butterfly. The design is split horizontally by purls and a k tbl.

The pattern includes written directions as well as charts. This pattern has been test knit here on Ravelry.

The pattern could be sized up by either using a different needle or adding the necessary number of stitches to the side design consisting of purls and k tbl stitches.

Stitches Used:

k, p, psso, k tbl, p tbl, ssk, k2tog, yo, sl
