This pattern can be made with any light-weight scrap yarn you have in your stash. I used sock and sport-weight scraps for my scarf. Use the appropriate size hook for the yarn you choose.

You can make a scarf very much like this one by combining a basic hexagon motif with a simple shell stitch. Make the first half of the scarf by joining hexes to the desired width and half of the length of the scarf, then continue the second half with colorful stripes of simple shell stitch.
