A very simple lace cowl, knit in the round. This would be a great project for first-time lace knitters or first-time chart-readers. The V-shaped motif is suggestive of the wooden split-rail fences seen bordering pastures and fields on the east coast of the US.

The pattern contains two sizes: A small, which will fit more snugly around your neck, and a large, which can be worn wrapped, or left to hang loosely like a scarf. The small size is 21-1/4 x 7-1/4” and the large size is 43-1/2 x 7-1/4”.

The small cowl used about 3/4 of a skein of Aerten DK yarn (235 yards/skein) and the large used about 1 and 3/4 of a skein of the same yarn.

Many thanks to my test knitters on this piece!
