This adorable slouch hat is double-knit, meaning that the hat’s lining is created at the same time as the hat’s outer fabric. The lining yarn also serves as a source of yarn for the eyes, eliminating the need for long floats.

Within the eyes, bobble stitches in main color make the pupils pop. Bobbles can be oriented so that the eyes gaze out in any direction. Meanwhile, dashed lines are knit in contrasting yarn that is cleverly dragged between the hat’s outer fabric and its lining to completely hide the floats.
