Looking to crochet something that makes your goth pop, your witchy brew, or your deep love of arachnids shine? This Spooky Spiderweb Earring crochet pattern is quick, uses just a bit of crochet thread and earring hardware, and doesn’t require an exceptional amount of skill.

I offer two options for making these earrings. One is slightly easier and not as textured. I made mine in thread (10 Crochet Cotton), but you could try making it with a fine yarn if you are into larger earrings, or with dk yarn, if you want a larger web to use as a house decoration.

To complete this project, you will need to know how to:

  • Chain
  • Start a project in the round
  • Work in the round
  • Do a double crochet
  • Do a front post double crochet
  • Do a front post single crochet
  • Slip stitch
  • Fasten off
  • Weave in ends
  • Block and stiffen
  • Fasten findings and earring hooks

Difficulty level: Beginner – pattern uses chain (ch), double crochet (dc), slip stitch (sl st), front post double crochet (fpdc), front post single crochet (fpsc), picot, a magic ring (mr). Stitch count is included at the end of the line for each found.

Finished size:

With a 1mm hook and number 10 cotton, my earrings (without hook and finding) came out to 2 inches, or roughly 5 cm, across. Working with a .7mm hook, they came out slightly smaller — around 1.75 inches, or slightly under 4.5cm, across. Your length with hook will depend on your findings and hook.

Materials:

  • Cotton crochet thread (size 10), roughly 111 inches / 281.5 cm per earring/222 inches / 563 cm total.
  • Crochet hook – I suggest a metal hook between .7 and 1mm in size.
  • Sewing needle for sewing in ends.
  • PVC glue, starch, or stiffening spray. Aleene’s Stiffen Quick spray is my favorite for small items like this.
  • Blocking mats and stainless steel pins for blocking. Alternatively, you can cover a sheet of cardboard with cling film to use as a mat.
  • Findings.
  • Earring hooks. Because so many people have nickel allergies and silver will eventually stain the cotton, I suggest getting stainless steel hooks from a reputable Etsy vendor. I get mine from JewelleryByHoneybee.
  • Pliers.

AI statement: I do not use AI to generate photos, text, patterns, grocery lists, conversation cues, or any content for my patterns or site. I do change the background of my images to protect the privacy of my home, but that background is also not AI generated. Usually, I simply gray out the background, remove the background and add a plain color, or place a photo image behind the content.
