This pattern is available for free.

I decided to create this pattern when I could not find a Halloween pattern that was free and would be good for all genders.

The bats are actually a modified version of the smocked slip stitch (aka butterfly stitch). There is a debate in my house if they are bats or spiders. Either one works for me as they are both spooky.

The orange multicolored hat was made with Knitologie Worsted Superwash and the green hat was made with Wool-Ease Worsted.
