This shawl looks delicate, but is big enough to wrap around larger figures. It is warm, but breathable and light. And it is so pretty, textured, and lace-like, yet relatively easy and enjoyable to make. The pattern mixes a variety of stitches while also falling into enough predictability for stitching and streaming at the same.

Difficulty level: Intermediate. You will need to know how to create a:

• Magic ring (mr)
• Single crochet (sc)
• Half-double crochet (hdc)
• Double crochet (dc)
• Treble/triple crochet (tr)
• Slip stitch (sl st)
• Puff stitch variant (puff) (instructions below)
• 3 double crochet together (3dctg) (instructions below)
• Pom pom (instructions below)
• V stitch (v-st) (instructions below)

Materials:

• DK weight yarn. I used Hobbii Wheel of Alpaca. The shawl uses almost an entire wheel weighing 250 grams (8.8 oz) and measuring 940 m (1027 yd).
• 4.5 mm crochet hook
• I did not block my shawl, but if you do, you will need blocking mats and rustproof pins.
• Yarn needle for sewing in ends.

Finished size: 71” (180 cm) across; 40” (100 cm) from tip to top.
