The Spring Into Fall Poncho was designed as an elegant piece to bring the wearer into the chillier months of fall. The colorway lends to the fall colors we love, and the pattern provides the warmth you are looking for as the days become shorter and the nights a little cooler. The lace work adds another element of elegance, without taking away from that warmth. It can also be knit in a solid color, which turns out just as elegant.

The poncho is extremely versatile in the way it is worn. It can be worn as a poncho over a tank, or even a jacket. Or, gather it around your neck and wear it as a cowl. Then, when you get to where you’re going and take off your jacket, you can pull it back down over your shoulders and continue wearing it as a poncho again. If your jacket doesn’t have a hood, pull it up over your head and ears to keep warm. So many options!

The poncho is knit flat and seamed together after blocking, using any seam you prefer. Using a U.S. size 10 knitting needles, it’s a quicker knit allowing it to be worked up and worn in no time. Or, knit it as a gift as it fits well on any body type up to a Large/XL as written, with some stretch in the yarn. If you would like it to be larger, simply add length in the stockinette portion of the poncho. The pattern was written for anyone who has knit simple lacework before, or has experience in the following stitches: knit, purl, slipping stitches, yarn overs, knitting stitches together.

So grab your pattern, your needles, your yarn choice, and your favorite beverage, and enjoy your knitting journey!
