Knitting starts at the top and ends at the bottom of the garment. You will use 2 different sized needles for knitting this shawl/scarf. One size small enough to give the lace weight yarn body and another size to make it light and airy.

Materials
Yarn: Lace Weight 440 yards/50 gms. Sample used 275 yds
about 30 gms. Pink Shawl used Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud Lace
Yarn and the Green Shawl used Fiberlady’s Hemp Fine yarn.

Needles: One needle of size 11 US (8 mm) AND one needle of
size 6 US (4.25 mm). See Note 1.

Gauge 12 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch after
blocking.

Finished Size After blocking: 60 inches along top of triangle
and 27 inches down center back.

Notes
1. You will use two differently sized needles to knit this shawl. On Right Side rows you will use the
larger needle to work the stitches off of the smaller needle. Then on the wrong side rows you will use
the smaller needle to work the stitches off of the larger needle. You can use two long straight
needles for this OR circular needles with interchangeable points, putting an 11 US (8 mm) on one
end of the cable and a 6 US (4.25 mm) on the other end of the cable. I used ChiaoGoo interchangeable needles, with the adapter. Interchangeable needles such as Knit Picks or Knitters Pride can be used also, without worrying about an adapter.
