A lovely, lacy alpaca beret, just in time for spring!

A Note on Sizing:
This beret is knit with 100% baby alpaca, which is very inelastic compared to wool. The brim may seem tight at first, but since the recovery of the yarn is so poor, it will stretch and remain stretched after wearing. The fit is loose on the head, which keeps the beret from crushing your hair! Just be sure to knit a size large enough for the wearer, as it will not give as much as wool of the same gauge.

2/26/09 ~ I have corrected an error in the pattern instructions. Please download a revised copy for your library. The error was in the following instruction:

Decrease Round C: k3, pass the 2nd and 3rd sts. on the right-hand needle over the first st, p1 around.

Editors note: this pattern was previously available as a Ravelry download, but has been taken down by the designer as of May 2011.
