Square Simple Summer Top Cover

This is a really simple pattern consisting of chains, single crochet, double crochet and triple crochets. The yarn you use ist flexible, only make sure the length from row 1 is ok with you.
Sizing:
The amount of chains in row one defines the length of the top. The length of the finished top is 1/2 of the length of row 1.
The repeat of the pattern defines the width of the top.
Left side of Top:
- Row 1: Start with chain (I always do a single crochet chain) of 193 stitches, turn (Other sizes & lengths: chain the length you want but it always needs to be a multiple of 4 and then add 1 more stitch, e.g. 48 4+1 =193), -> this defines the length of the top. Adjust this to the length of the top that you want.)*
- Row 2: crochet 193 single crochet (if you did a chain of single crochet at the start) or double crochets (if you did a simple chain in row 1) into the chain just made, turn
- Row 3: chain 4+3 (= first treble crochet & chain space), skip 3 stitches, treble crochet (4th stitch from last treble crochet), chain 3 , repeat from * to* until end of row, turn
- Row 4. chain 4+2 (= first treble crochet & chain space), skip 2 stitches,* treble crochet (3th stitch from last stitch), chain 3, repeat from to* until end of row, turn
- Row 5. repeat row 3.
- Row 6. chain 3, double crochet in all stitches of the last row, turn
- Row 7 - . repeat rows 3-6 three more times (= you then have 12 treble crochet rows and 4 double crochet rows + first two rows) Note: if you do more or less repeats the top will me more narrow or have longer sleeves
Right side of top:
* Crochet right side of top same as left side.
Finish your work
- Join sides and leave head hole: join both sides (use the last rows as its the prettiest), starting on the start of the row with a slip stitch until about 1/3 (so at least your head fits through), repeat joining from the other side of the piece.
- Armholes: Similar to the middle seam, create the arm seam by slip stitching, this time you stich the same side on itself, closing about 1/4th of the seam, repeat on other side
- finish garment: by adding a row of double crochets around the bottom of the top (start anywhere with 3 chains, always double crochet 4 into the triple crochet spaces and 3 double crochets into the double crochets
- weave in loose ends
- DONE!
