Binka Schwan’s Skill Builder and Baby Dots sweater in this issue of Cast On inspired this design. Instead of a single Reverse Stockinette stitch on Stockinette, I decided to do “squares” (or more accurately “rectangles” of Reverse Stockinette. The sweater features a square neckline where the front is deeper than the back, but since the neckline is the only difference between the front and back, you can wear the lower neckline in the back if you want. (There are photographs at end of the pattern showing this). The front and back are knit separately and the sleeves are worked from the shoulder down with short row shaping.
