’SRaM’ hat is a garter stitch hat with an interesting, modern design for male and female hat lovers.
It has a great fit due to its elasticity.
The pattern might look complicated, but it is easy, fast and fun.

Needles, yarns & sizes:
For yarns good for needle sizes between US 3-6 / 3.25-4mm
Co:
96 sts (M-L) will fit most adults and teens heads.
84 sts (S) for adults, teens and children.
72 sts (XS) smaller children/ toddler/ babies.
60 sts (XXS) for newborns.

For heavier yarn qualities with the yarn manufacturer’s recommendation for needle sizes between US 6-8 / 4-5mm
Co:
72 sts (M-L) a good fit for most adults and teens.
60 sts (S) for children/ toddler
52 sts for babies.

The brim of your ‘SRaM’ hat should be knitted with a smaller needle size.
For the alpaca/sock yarn projects, a stretchy or loose co with needle size US 2-3/ 3-3.5mm is a good base for your hat.
Knit the hat’s body and crown with a bigger sized needle.
For example: US 3 / 3.25mm for the brim, US 5 / 3.75mm for the rest of your ‘SRaM’ hat project.
For the Merino/wool hat projects, start with a smaller needle for the brim and keep on going for the hat’s body and crown with the bigger needle.
For example: US 6 / 4mm for the brimm, US 7/ 4.5mm to finish your
’SRaM’ hat project.

Happy knitting!
