Chart of the cuff patterning on a liturgical glove in the collection of the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, Czech Republic.

Linked by tradition to St. Adalbert, the second Bishop of Prague (956? – 997). Even if it is, in fact, a few hundred years too young to have belonged to St. Adalbert, it is still a rare example of medieval knitting.

Experts date it somewhere between the end of the 12th century and the first half of the 14th century.

Knit in linen in stockinette stitch in the round at 15 to 16/5 stitches and 20-23 rows per inch (6-6.5 stitches and 8-9 rows/cm).

The article provides detailed information about the construction of the original glove but is not a full set of pattern instructions.
