Le fleuve St-Laurent est au cœur de la vie du Québec depuis que les premiers humains en foulent la terre. Cours d’eau emblématique et majestueux, ses eaux coulent depuis le Lac Ontario jusqu’au vaste estuaire du St-Laurent, avant de se jeter dans l’immensité de l’océan Atlantique. Il est d’ailleurs l’un des plus grands fleuves au monde. Au cours des époques, le St-Laurent à contribué au développement social, économique et culturel de la province, de telle façon qu’il a, en quelque sorte, façonné le Québec d’aujourd’hui, tout comme il modèlera celui de demain.

Ce patron est un hommage à ce fleuve si important pour ma province et tous ses habitants. Tricotés des orteils jusqu’à la cheville, St-Laurent et unisexe, intemporel et très accessible aux débutants! Il est composé d’un mélange de dentelle facile à mémoriser et d’un petit peu de jacquard représentant des vagues qui se brisent sur une plage. Il s’agit d’un excellent patron pour débuter le jacquard en rond!

TAILLES

ÉCHANTILLON
32 mailles X 40 rangs = 10cm/10cm tricoté à l’endroit en rond, après blocage.
Vous devez également obtenir le même échantillon pour votre jacquard.

FILS
Grosseur « fingering » (généralement 400m/100g). Il est suggéré d’utiliser un fil contenant un certain pourcentage de nylon, pour la durabilité.

INSTRUCTIONS
Le patron est composé d’instructions écrites, à l’exception des motifs en dentelle et en jacquard, qui sont sous forme de charte.
Les abréviations utilisées sont majoritairement tirées de l’anglais. Un tableau, situé à la seconde page du patron, définit chaque abréviation utilisée ; cela permet non seulement d’alléger les instructions écrites, mais facilitera également la compréhension de votre prochain patron exclusivement en anglais!

The St. Lawrence River has been at the heart of Quebec life since the first humans set foot there. An emblematic and majestic waterway, its waters flow from Lake Ontario to the vast St. Lawrence estuary, before emptying into the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. It actually is one of the largest rivers in the world. Over the ages, the St-Laurent has contributed to the social, economic and cultural development of the province, in such a way that it has, in a way, shaped the Quebec of today, just as it will shape that of tomorrow.

This pattern is a tribute to this river that is so paramount for my province and all its inhabitants. Knitted toe up, St-Laurent is unisex, timeless and very accessible to beginners! It’s made from a blend of easy-to-remember lace and a touch of colorwork depicting waves breaking on a beach. This is an excellent pattern to beginning colorwork knitting in the round!

Moreover, this pattern stems from a collaboration with the talented Quebec dyers, Otriko!

SIZES

32 stitches X 40 rows = 10cm/10cm square, stockinette in the round, after blocking.
You must also have the same gauge for the colorwork.

YARNS
“Fingering” size yarn (usually 400m/100g). It is recommended to use yarn that contains nylon, for durability.
