Stache-a-pus
Stache-a-pus is just a lil guy who’s here to help you hide your valuables. This pattern will show you how to make your own Stache-a-pus stash jar!
This is a digital file only.
This pattern is written in US crochet terminology
This is an intermediate level pattern and does require some sewing
Unlike my other patterns, part of this pattern is NOT worked in the round. For the main body, you will be ending each round with a slipstitch and beginning the next with a chain 1. This is called a “joined round”. The slipsticth and single chain are not counted as stitches. The tentacles are worked “in the round”. This pattern was specifically design to create parallel bands instead of a spiral as I originally made this as a pride flag design
All parts of Stache-a-pus, except mustache, are done with 2 strands of yarn combined. This should be a consideration when acquiring yarn
Steps are written in the order they should be completed
This pattern is written to fit the 3oz glass jars found on Amazon here. Jar bodies are approximately 2.5” wide by 2.1” tall. Other jars can be used, but the base opening of Stache-a-Pus will need to be altered to fit.
Pattern starts from the top of Stache-a-Pus’s head, and goes down
Any yarn size or color and any corresponding hook size can be used, but those variables will alter the size of the finished plushie
The final pages of this pattern are a row checklist. I find it helpful to keep track of completed rows on paper, especially when multiple rows have the same stitch count. If you don’t find that helpful, feel free not to print it.
