The Star Bag is lined and has a zipper closure with bobble slide-pull, an adjustable strap and feet to help protect the reinforced base. The directions use British crochet terminology (with US equivalents given in parentheses).

Materials needed to complete the bag:
4 x 50g balls of Aran size cotton (about 80-85m or 87-93 yards per 50g),
or any similarly sized yarn
4.5mm (size 7) hook, or hook to obtain gauge (as a firm fabric is desired, thicker yarn with smaller hook to obtain gauge is better than finer yarn with larger hook)
1 x 25cm (10”) zipper
3 x 2.5cm (1”) sliders
4 x 15mm (5/8”) feet
20cm x 20cm (7.5” x 7.5”) stiff plastic canvas for the bag base
Lining fabric, approx. 24cm x 60cm (9.5” x 24”)
Sewing thread to match lining
Stitch markers
Wool needle, sewing needle and scissors for assembly.

Once you have the basics of this pattern, you can easily modify by changing the decorative stitch or adding a scalloped top for example (as can be seen on some of the samples).
