My favorite place to stay in the whole world is a house called Stardust Rose. It lives down in Landers, CA in the Mojave desert, and after staying there a handful of times, it‘s starting to feel like our own. The home has a view of amazing sunrises and sunsets, and is just the perfect combination of cute and comfortable. Plus, it’s fenced, so we can bring our dog Tugboat with us there! We always have the best time when we stay at Stardust Rose, and this shawl that so well represents the light and warmth of that little pink house is perfect for the name.

This crescent-shaped shawl is worked from the top down, starting with an elongated I-cord tab cast on, that transitions seamlessly into i-cord edging worked throughout the pattern to your I-cord bind-off. Combinations of Garter Stitch, eyelet rows, and corrugated ribbing create an elegant yet wearable piece! This pattern is simpler than it looks and I would encourage you to use the photo tutorial at the end of this PDF to feel confident in your cast-on, the hardest part! Designed to be suitable for all-season use - big enough as a wrap for camping or chilly nights at the beach, warm enough to bundle under layers in the winter, and to work wonderfully as a shoulder covering over a party dress or a tank top.

For results that look the most similar to the sample, use the suggested yarn or a merino-based Sport yarn. If substituting yarn, be sure yardage is equal to or greater than 325 yds / 297m!

This pattern is designed to use up all of your yarn. If you need to swatch, please use Color B.

TIP: This project can also be worked in fingering weight yarn, though yardage will vary. I recommend going down a needle size. See Amanda’s project here
