Starfish - designed by Knitting Jules.

I love the way the arms curl in this cute starfish. I have knitted it in many different thicknesses of yarn including mixed fibers superwash wool and silk and all have looked lovely. I recommend yarn with a bit of stretch, fibres such as cotton do not have so much give when shaping.

The pattern of the starfish suggests using Aran yarn and 3.50mm needles. It can be knitted in other gauges. I recommend using needles 2 sizes smaller than indicated by the manufacturer to create a tight knit and the stuffing doesn’t show.
The pattern uses a number of shaping and sewing up techniques and is ideal for a less experienced knitter to practice.
