This motif was designed so that I would have a starfish to use when I wanted it. I chose a tone-on-tone yarn so that it would look like the colors of the sand. However, the motif would probably show better in a solid yarn.

I have listed the yarn I used, but feel free to use whatever yarn you would like, keeping in mind that worsted weight will make a bigger cloth and sport or fingering a smaller cloth. Adjust needle size to be appropriate for your choice of yarn. My sample measures 10 x 8 inches.

This cloth used just under half of the skein.
