The Starlight & the Moon Socks are knit top down, with a heel flap, and rounded toe. This pattern is written for DPNs but can easily be adapted for magic loop or 9” circulars. The body of the sock is knit in the main colour (MC), and the colourwork is knit in the contrast colour (CC).

Errata: On row 39 of chart A (size 2), the first stitch should be in CC. This has been fixed in the new PDF.

Yarn: 1 skein of 100g fingering weight yarn for MC, and approximately 35-45g of fingering weight yarn for the CC.

Sample shown in Blue Bird Yarns Merino Superwash Sock. 80% superwash merino / 20% nylon. 390 metres / 425 yards per 115g. Autumn Days 2 x 100g skein set.

Needle: 2.25mm / US 1 (UK 13) DPNS or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 36sts x 44rows = 4”/10 cm for stockinette stitch in the round after blocking.

Leg and foot circumference: 6.5 (7, 7.5)”/ 16.5 (18, 19) cm unstretched.
