PDF Crochet pattern to create the magical, celestial blanket of stars seen in the photos.

Pattern includes written instructions for 7 different design star blocks, with step by step photos.
The hexagons are then joined in a specific order to create a starburst fade effect across the blanket. This is detailed with colour schematics for layout and colours.

Two PDFs included: UK & US terminology.

I used 8 colours from the Stylecraft DK range of Highland Heathers and Life to create the fade from turquoise through blues and teals, to navy and purple. 200g of each colour. I also used 200g of mustard for the star colour.
I used a 4mm hook throughout.
Each hexagon measures 13 cm across the widest point. The finished blanket measure 170cm across.

I first had the idea for this blanket back in the winter of 2020 when most of us were in ‘Lockdown’. The stars above have always reminded me that however dark things seem, there is always a glimmer of light and that we are never truly alone. I wanted to capture that feeling of hope and guidance to create a cosy, celestial blanket to warm up the chilly, dark nights.
