Starring Stripes
by Finella
We want gay clothes to wear on dullish days, so I know you’ll like this smart jumper. The stripes are cleverly arranged to make you look your slimmest, and it is so easy to knit.
Original pattern published in “WIFE AND HOME”, 1938
Measurements: 34” round bust; 19” length from shoulder; 20” sleeve seam.
Four double-pointed needles in the larger gauge (UK size 8 - 4.5mm) are required for the neck ribbing.
Two colours required for stripes: proportions given in pattern are 3oz of the light contrast colour and 5oz of the main body colour using original wool. Reprint suggests you can make this up in double-knitting weight yarn using UK No.9 and 11 needles in place of original 8 and 11 but this will take more wool.
