I’ve prepared 4 different square pattern designs for one side of the pillowcase. Each pillowcase consists of two sides – the 1st side and the 2nd side.

Overlay mosaic crochet: The pillowcases worked continuously in the round from the bottom of the square (tubular crocheting row by row, like a sock or sleeve). Choose any combination of panels you like. However, you can also make each side separately (row by row bottom up) and join them later in any way you prefer.

Interlocking filet crochet: Use any of the included panel patterns for either side. I suggest working main part of a panel row by row bottom up, and then work 2 rounds around the edges. This will give the panel a nice, even border and make it easier to join them with sl st or sc together to form a pillowcase. You can also work the entire width of the panels bottom up and then join them around the edges in any way you prefer.

Terminology: all crochet terms used are U.S.

Technique: Overlay Mosaic or Interlocking Filet crochet with diagonal stitches bottom up row by row.

Yarn weight: Sport. Ball weight: 50 g, yarn length:130 m (142.17 yds).

Gauge: overlay mosaic - 10 stitches in 5cm (2”) by 5 rows in 5cm (2”) in dc stitch pattern interlocking filet - 5 windows by 5 windows = 5x5 cm (2”x2”) in filet mesh pattern

Hook 3.25 – 3.5 mm.

Yardage for each Panel (separately):
1 or 2: dark yarn ⁓ 440 m /481 yds (background), light yarn ⁓ 350 m /383 yds (stars)
3: dark yarn ⁓ 350 m /383 yds (background) + 70 m /77 yds (deer), light yarn ⁓ 170 m /186 yds (stars) + 230 m /252 yds (moon)
4: dark yarn ⁓ 390 m /427 yds (background) + 70 m /77 yds (deer), light yarn ⁓ 350 m /383 yds (stars)

Yardage for Panel combinations (1+3 and 2+4):
1+3: dark yarn ⁓ 790 m /864 yds (background) + 70 m /77 yds (deer), light yarn ⁓ 520 m /569 yds (stars) + 230 m /252 yds (moon)
2+4: dark yarn ⁓ 830 m /908 yds (background) + 70 m /77 yds (deer), light yarn ⁓ 700 m /766 yds (stars)

Size: 45-50 by 45-50 cm
