Growing up, I would hear a lot about Demark from grandparents and great-grandparents who came to America in the early 1900s. This made me immensely proud of this part of my heritage.

When I started knitting again after a decade away, I became entranced with Scandinavian designs. I learned about traditional Danish knitting called ‘damask’ or ‘nightshirts.’ This tradition inspired me to create this cowl based on traditional Danish patterns found on these nightshirts.
