These hand towels are casual but elegant, with a Tunisian crochet body in the beautiful textured honeycomb stitch, and a regular crochet star stitch border. They are simple and fun to make, and switching back and forth between Tunisian and regular crochet is easy and explained in detail with photos and links to instructional videos. You will need a Tunisian hook, a regular crochet hook, and any 100% cotton yarn you like as long as it is soft and durable; the pattern gives detailed instructions for 4 different yarn weights (heavy worsted, light worsted, sport, light sport) and suggested examples of each. My favourite yarn to use for this project is Dishie from Wecrochet, because it works up quickly but isn’t too bulky, and remains soft after repeated washings. Star stitch and honeycomb stitch are described with text and photos, and there are links to instructional videos for both stitches to help you have success if you are a beginner to these techniques.
