Inspired by Van Gogh’s painting Starry Night, this shawl begins with shades of light blue at the center back. As it grows, the color transitions into true blue and finally deep midnight purple. The beaded trim mimics the twinkle of stars.

Yarn Knit Circus Yarns Thrilling Gradient (80% superwash merino, 20% tussah silk; 575 yd 526 m/5¼ oz 150 g): starry night (A), 1 skein. Knit Circus Yarns Thrilling Kettle Dyed (80% superwash merino, 20% tussah silk; 200 yd 183 m/3½ oz 100 g): perfect purple (B), 1 skein.

Hook U.S. size I/9 (5.5 mm) 24″ Tunisian cabled hook and size H/8 (5 mm) standard hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Tools St markers (m); 270 triangle seed beads, size 5, teal.

Finished measurements 50½” wide and 23¾” tall at center back.

Gauge 18 sts and 14 rows = 4″ in tss with Tunisian hook, blocked.
