Starstruck is an outside-in pattern with a set stitch count perfect for adding the Canada Goose Border. Being an outside-in enthusiast I work up every pattern I can get my hands on. They always begin with “Make a large number of chains then stitch back into them.” I’ve figured out how to make the first round with only three chains!!! I’ve also included a PDF with round-by-round photos as well as a second PDF with tutorials for some of the trickier sections of the pattern.

A note regarding gauge:

Gauge is crucial to successfully completing an outside-in pattern at the correct size. I’ve included two places to measure early in the pattern, it’s a good idea to stop at each and check that the square is coming out at the size you want. Since everyone’s tension varies slightly I’ve included three suggested hook sizes: I (5.50mm) for loose crocheters, J (6.00mm) for average crocheters, and K (6.50mm) for tight crocheters. If you’re participating in the BAMMM SHAZAAM then you should use the same hook you’ve been using for all of the other patterns in the CAL.

Margaret MacInnis is one of my favorite designers, so I was over the moon when she asked me to design an outside-in pattern for her BAMMM SHAZAAM CAL. My husband teased that I was a little starstruck and the pattern idea was born.

I know that I always say that without the testers my patterns wouldn’t be half as nice, and it’s true. However, in this case I don’t think Starstruck would exist without their hard work and dedication. A HUGE thank you to Miaiwa, gtcmom, nuts4fiber, Wg96girl, catmouse76, dmbonner, melama02, SerenityChan, Toknitorknot, dakotastamper, ajsgramma, and MandyWe. I appreciate all of your help in perfecting this pattern.
