Stash Busting Low Sew Gnome
This is a pattern for a small Stash Busting Low Sew Gnome. No physical item is included with your purchase of this pattern. A small and quick project, you can use up stash yarn to make this adorable gnome! Pattern includes the gnome body, a hat, and a witch hat. I plan to design more types of hats in the future. Ravelry will notify you if updates are made to the pattern.
Materials
Scrap amounts of yarn in 3 colors for:
Body (Color 1)
Hands and nose (Color 2)
Hat (Color 3)
Yarn: any size, I used worsted, size 4 yarn.
Keep in mind: worsted weight yarn thickness varies.
Hook: any size, I used 4.5 mm.
(Tension, hook and yarn size will determine size of your gnome. Keep tension tight enough for your yarn weight that stuffing will not peek through)
Stitch marker
Scissors
Yarn needle
Stitches/Abbreviations Used
MR - Magic ring (I actually use Ch4, slip stitch, but I think people prefer the magic ring. You can also do Ch2 and work into the 1st Ch.
SC - Single crochet
INC - increase (2 SC in the same stitch)
DEC - decrease (1 SC combining 2 stitches by inserting hook in 1st stitch, yarning over and pulling up, inserting hook in 2nd stitch, yarning over, pulling up, and pulling through all 3 loops on hook)
BLO … - Back loop only for everything in brackets
FLO … - Front loop only for everything in brackets
(…)x# - Repeat everything in parentheses this number of times
#DC BBL - Bobble made with this many incomplete Double Crochets. (See next slide for how to do a bobble)
YO - Yarn over
FO - Finish off
To color change: finish the previous stitch in the new color
Note: It is recommended that you read through the pattern prior to beginning so that you are familiar with and aware of any special stitches or instructions
This pattern is worked in continuous rounds using US terminology.
