10 “ x 12” applique capitalized Letter O.
7” x 7” applique of the State Bird of Ohio, the Cardinal.
7” x 7” applique of the State Tree of Ohio, the Buckeye Tree.
3” x 3” applique of the State Flower of Ohio, the Carnation.

Sew the finished appliques to your sweater, jacket, backpack, book bag, tote or blanket!

The O (made with Vanna’s Glamour, light sport weight, in white) is knitted, with US size 2 (2.75mm) needles.

The Gray and Black shadows are knit with Loops & Threads Woolike in Cool Gray and Black, with US size 2 (2.75mm) needles.

The Buckeye leaves (made with Knit Picks Brava-sport in Dublin) are knitted, with US size 2 (2.75mm) needles.

The Stem (Knit Picks Brava-sport in Dublin) is crocheted with US size B crochet hook.

The Buckeyes are crocheted in Loops & Threads Woolike in Chocolate, with US size C crochet hook.

I used scraps left over from other projects. I estimated by weighing the finished applique that it would take about 100 yards. The crochet hook could really be any size from B to G, as the gauge for the buckeyes and stem is not critical. You could use a larger knitting needle, but it would make the applique larger.

More info on the Cardinal and the Carnation as they become available.

These 4 patterns will be available soon.
