The basic stockinette hat that I just can’t stop making. Last winter after making one of these hats for everyone in my family, I decided it was time to figure out the pattern for any size I’d need. Enjoy knitting your Steady Stockinette Hat!

Sizes:
Newborn, Baby, Toddler, Child, (Adult Small, Medium, Large)
This hat is intended to have 1-2 inches (2.5-5 cm) of negative ease.

Circumference inches: 12, 15, 17, 18 (19, 20, 22) or 30.5, 38, 43, 46 (48, 50, 56) cm.

Yarn requirements:
DK weight yarn, I used Hedgehog Fibers tweedy (100g = 250 yards)

88, 125, 175, 190, (237, 275, 325) yards

US size #3 (3.25 mm) circular needles, or needles needed to get gauge. Hat can be knit in magic loop or DPNs

Gauge:
21 sts x 32 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette.

Notions:
5 removable stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors.
