Yarn: You will need approximately 55 yards of the main color and 35 yards of the contrasting color of an aran-weight wool for best results. (Pictured: Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Marine -- aran, 1 skein / 100g / 210 yards, 100% merino; and Hobby Lobby “I Love This Wool!” in Sungold – aran, 1 skein / 100g / 219 yards, 93% wool / 7% nylon)

Supplies:

  • 4 US size 5 double-pointed needles
  • stitch holder or waste yarn
  • tapestry needle

Sizing: Finished mittens will measure approximately 6 inches in length (cuff 2.25”, hand 3.75”), and approximately 6 inches in circumference. They should fit most toddlers up to the age of 3.
