This is a 16-row repeat pattern. It is based on Barbara Walker’s Wave Edging and adapted to fit Audry Nicklin’s Celestarium.

This scalloped edging is both modern and attractive. It has double eyelets along the outside. From left to right, it increases more quickly to a point before gradually flowing down into the nadir. It flows with a swoosh and swirl motion, created by the placement of decreases in this pattern.

It can be added to the edge of any shawl, but the instructions included are for attachment to a circular shawl.

Instructions are in written form and completely charted.

Skills needed: knit, purl, yarn over, knit 2 together, slip stitch, pass slip stitch over, seaming or grafting.

Errata corrections have been made to the written instructions on the blog page. A printable chart has replaced the handwritten chart.
