This shawl is knitted sideways. The natural shape is like an argyle, but the shawl is finished by blocking it into a semicircle.

With the suggested yarn and gauge the finished, blocked size is about 250 x 85 cm / 98 x 33”

You can also substitute the yarn basically with any other yarn or use different gauge, but that may affect on the size of the finished shawl as well as how much yarn you need.

The bobbles on the top edge can be substituted with one knit stitch each.

The flower sections are both written out and charted (separate file). The pattern sections are only written because there’s nothing to chart. The overall shape is helped with German short rows.

For at least the first year all proceeds (after VAT) from this shawl will be donated to charity: towards schooling of children in Himalaya and Peru. The funds will go via the female organization Tienaukaisijat of Evangelical Free Church of Finland.

“A great project for a winter destash of cosier yarns. The piece knits up as a lovely panelled shawl alternating with pretty wrapped stitch rows, and flower stitch patches against a knit stitch background.

I found this piece very peaceful to knit and found it struck a good balance between using a minimal variety of stitches whilst still being a fun challenge. I also found it to be a good introduction to incorporating wrapping as a knitting technique and absolutely love how the flower stitches pop out.“

Tämä shaali neulotaan sivuttain kärjestä kärkeen. Luonnollinen muoto muistuttaa salmiakkikuviota, mutta se pingotetaan puoliympyräksi.

Suositellulla langalla ja neuletiheydellä valmiin pingotetun huivin koko on noin 250 x 85 cm.

Voit neuloa huivin periaattessa millä tahansa langalla tai neuletiheydellä, mutta se saattaa vaikuttaa langanmenekkiin sekä valmiin huivisi kokoon.

Huivin yläreunaan neulottavat nypyt voit halutessasi korvata neulomalla kunkin nypyn tilalle yhden oikean silmukan.

Kukkaosioiden ohjeet ovat sekä kirjoitettuina että kaavioina. Kaaviot ovat ainoastaan englanninkieliset, ja mielestäni tämä ohje on helpompi tehdä kirjoitetusta ohjeesta. Huivin muotoa on rakennettu lyhennetyillä kerroksilla.

Vähintään vuoden ajan kaikki tämän huivin tuotot (alv:n jälkeen) ohjataan hyväntekeväisyyteen. Kohteena on Tienaukaisijat ry:n kummilapset. Varoilla mahdollistetaan näiden Himalajan ja Perun lapsien koulunkäynti.
