This very warm and cozy worsted weight hat has a double layer color-work brim with a stylized brickwork pattern inspired by the stone walls (Stenmure) of Stavanger, Norway.

The hat begins with a stockinette brim that lines the stranded colorwork. As the stranded floats are covered by the inner brim, there is no need to worry about trapping the floats as you knit.

The well-fitting crown is shared using centered doubled decreases for a polished look.

What to add more stones to the wall? Directions are also included for a striped version - with small stripes on the inner brim and larger stripes above the colorwork pattern.
Designed for worsted weight yarn for a medium-sized adult head, it can be adjusted by using heavier yarn for a larger hat, or going down a needle size for a smaller version.

Colorwork pattern has both charted and written instructions.

This design was inspired by the designs of TheInkyKnitter. I encourage you to check out their fabulous hats as well.
