Stew On It Cowl
Pattern Inspiration:
Fall is, in my opinion, SOUP SEASON. Nothing is more comforting than a hearty bowl of warm soup. Simple stitches give the perfect opportunity to rest the mind so it can “stew” on the more important things, while the bias construction keeps things interesting.
Collaboration Info:
Cat Stricklin of Cesium Yarn and I decided to create “sister” patterns, similar designs made in different crafts, for our Fall 2025 collaboration. This is the crochet sister! You can find the knit sister on Cat’s shop on Ravelry or on cesiumyarn.com!
Basic Information:
Pattern is written in US crochet terms.
Yarn: DK weight (weight 3), or fingering weight held double. Approximately 300-325 yards. I used a DK sock set from Cesium Yarn for my striped sample, and assorted fingering weight minis held double for my second sample.
Hook: 5.5 mm, or size needed to meet gauge.
Finished size: Pinned - 24” circumference, 22” deep at center, short edges 8” deep. Your cowl will “bounce back” a bit after unpinning.
Gauge: After blocking, 17 sts by 18 rows = 4” by 4” in linen stitch (pattern stitch). Note that this measurement was taken after unpinning the cowl, so the fabric “bounced back” a bit.
