The colorwork in this design was inspired by the beautiful Amish quilts of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Working with needle and thread is a long-honored way of gathering and celebrating marriages, births, and other important life events. The special attention to detail in both the stitching and the design is a love language.

Yarn: approximately 60 grams of fingering weight yarn for the main color and approximately 40 grams of fingering weight yarn for the contrasting color

Suggested Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm) and US 2 (2.75 mm) DPNs, or your preferred size for sock knitting and a second set one size larger i.e.; US 2 (2.75 mm) and US 3 (3.0 or 3.25 mm)

The larger needles sizes would be for the colorwork. The sample shown used a US 1 for the main portions of the sock and a US 2 for the colorwork chart.
