Stitchill Shawl gives you all the fun of graphic colourwork without the hassle of intarsia. Three colours repeat in a tightening rhythm across modular strips, all coming together in a diamond lace edging.

Working up fast in garter stitch and DK yarn, this is a satisfyingly simple knit with high impact. The blend of merino and alpaca in Blue Moon’s Islander yarn ensures great drape and warmth.

Size
Finished wingspan: 172.5 cm / 68 in
Finished depth: 77 cm / 30.25 in

Tension
14.5 sts and 26 rows over 10 cm / 4 in, garter stitch. Wet block your swatch hard. Unpin and allow to relax overnight before measuring.
Gauge is not critical but will affect the finished size of the shawl and the amount of yarn used.

Yarn
225 m / 246 yds of DK yarn in each of three colours. This is a versatile shawl that will work in a wide variety of yarns, both solid and variagated, but it is recommended to use a yarn with a high wool content that will block well.
Sample is made using:
Blue Moon Islander DK (70% Falkland wool; 30% alpaca; 225m / 246 yds per 100g skein).
MC - Indigo - 1 skein
CC1 - Teal - 1 skein
CC2 - Old Gold - 1 skein
