Stjerne (meaning star in Norwegian) is a top-down seamless yoke sweater. The traditional star shapes based on Norwegian star patterns from the Selbu region reflect the changing of seasons from summer to fall, as the stars begin to glimmer earlier and earlier in the day. The ribbed neckline is followed by short rows at the back of the neck, to create a comfortable fit. The yoke features stranded colorwork with foreground and background colors that transition to highlight the center of the stars. Optional waistline shaping creates a flattering fit, and the hem is finished off with ribbing. The cuffs compliment and echo some of the yoke colorwork and colors.
