This simple pinwheel coaster, easily knit in an evening, makes a beautiful resting spot for a mug of warm tea on a rainy night.

The shape is inspired by the storm clouds in Jane Austen’s classic novel Sense and Sensibility, in which the stormclouds serve as an important character, propelling Marianne, inadvertently, toward Captain Brandon.

It was created for Little Skein in the Big Wool’s July subscription box.

Size: 6 inches across

Yarn: The sample is knit in October House Fiber Arts Sojourn Sock in the colorway “Blueberry Trifle.” Each coaster requires approximately 40 yards, or 10g.
