Stormfell was born from a feeling, the need for something quiet and grounding. A sweater to wear on ordinary days, yet still feels like a small gesture of care. I had designed its older sibling, Albarn, a while back: warm, bold and comforting, but too heavy for everyday wear.

This one had to be different: lighter, softer, easier to reach for. The kind of knit that calms the mind with its rhythm, yet still makes you feel put together.

Worked seamlessly from the top down, Stormfell features a relaxed drop-shoulder silhouette and a sculptural turtleneck — simple, but striking. I chose a dark blue that reminds me of home: a town tucked between two lakes, where the sky and water often blur into one.

Yarn: Stormfell is knitted with two yarns held together.

Yarn 1: 5 (5, 5, 6, 6) (6, 7, 7, 8) skeins of Laine x Novita DK by Novita (70% Falkland Wool, 15% Bluefaced Leicester, 15% Bluefaced Kerry Hill, 246 yds / 225  m – 100  g), colourway: 1831 Silent Storm.

Alternatively, you can use approx. 1003 (1083, 1188, 1260, 1347) (1431, 1521, 1643, 1739) yds / 918 (990, 1089, 1153, 1232) (1309, 1391, 1503, 1591) m of any similar DK-weight yarn with comparable yardage.

Yarn 2: 4 (5, 5, 5, 6) (6, 6, 7, 7) balls of Edith by Novita (70% mohair, 30% silk, 229 yds / 210 m – 25  g), colourway: 1731 Night.

Alternatively, you can use approx. 897 (968, 1062, 1126, 1204) (1279, 1359, 1469, 1555) yds / 822 (887, 974, 1034, 1104) (1173, 1246, 1347, 1426) m of any similar lace-weight yarn with comparable yardage.

Needles: US  6 / 4 mm circular needles for ribbing and US 10.5 / 6.5 mm circular needles for stockinette stitch.
