I’ve had an idea for a while of a beautiful slouch hat showcasing a lace panel that stretches along the complete length. This is how I imagined it to be.

This is an ideal pattern if you would like to try a lace pattern without over committing :) It’s also perfect if you are new to charts (everything is written out as well).

The lace looks almost like a cable, but it’s not. It reminded me of a river rushing over rocks, and so I named it the Stormy River Hat.

The hat is worked in the round, from the bottom up and includes lace, twisted rib and stockinette stitches. There are charts and I’ve also included written instructions for the lace panel, if you are more comfortable with that.

You can work it with either a 16 inch circular needle, or with DPN’s
