Stormy Weather Hat
Stormy Weather Hat
The hat has a finished diameter of 10 inches, and a finished height of 8 inches, and fits an adult female.
I used almost one full skein of Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino yarn, and after winding two skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Silky Merino together, I used almost ONE full skein (of two yarns wound together!). In total, two skeins of yarn were used.
Gauge over brim k2p2 ribbing is 6 st to 1 in.
Gauge over stockinette is 5 st to 1 in.
Needles needed: Size 6 DPNs, 16 inch circulars
Materials needed: Yarn needle or crochet hook to weave in ends, and stitch markers.
Skills needed for this hat: cable knitting, long tail cast on, stranded knitting, knit stitch, purl stitch, circular knitting, and casting off.
Pattern Inspiration: I loved Christine Aylesworth’s Hermione Hearts Ron hat, and amended it for my yarn, my gauge, took away the lace aspects (the yo holes), added fair isle, changed the crown decreases and… basically made a new hat pattern. I thought I’d share so no one has to do these calculations twice.
