Storyteller Cardigan
For the readers, the daydreamers, and the ones who always have a book nearby.
Some of my favorite memories are the quiet ones. A cozy chair, a cup of something warm, a book I don’t want to put down, and a cardigan pulled around me because I’ve decided I’m staying right where I am.
That feeling is where the Storyteller Cardigan began.
I wanted to design the cardigan I picture myself wearing in all of those little bookish moments. Something soft and comfortable enough to live in, colorful enough to make me smile, and practical enough to actually wear. Of course it needed pockets, because every good cardigan should have somewhere to tuck your phone, your keys, or a few little things you collect along the way.
The stripes are meant to feel a little like turning the pages of a favorite story. Each color moves into the next, creating a cardigan that feels playful, cozy, and just a little bit magical. And because everyone has their own favorite stories, the color sequence can become your own story too.
The sample was created in collaboration with Moonglow Yarn Co. using her Winter Whisper color set, which was such a perfect fit for the feeling I wanted this cardigan to have.
The Storyteller Cardigan is designed to be a sweater you actually reach for. The kind that gets thrown on for a trip to the bookstore, worn while reading on a rainy afternoon, or wrapped around your shoulders when you stay up far too late because you have to finish one more chapter.
It is worked from the top down with a V-neck and raglan shaping. The body is worked flat, the sleeves are worked in the round, and the hidden pockets are built right into the cardigan. The pattern also includes options for adjusting the length, sleeves, stripes, and fit.

Because sometimes the best place to be is somewhere inside a story.
