This design was born from a simple what-if. What if I married my love for short row heels with my dislike for purling? Oh, that’s nice. But now that I’m being lazy, what if I knit this sock toe-up and avoided sewing altogether? Now we’re talking!
A note on yarn: not all sock or fingering weight yarn is the same. I used a fairly thin one for these (Long Dog Yarn Bounce Sock 100g = 464yds). Some of my testers had thicker yarn and had a gauge of 8 sts per 1” instead of 10 sts. They combated this by making a smaller size and just knit them to their foot length. Also, the bigger sizes will use more than a mini-skein of contrast color, unless you make the cuff shorter.
