This is a pattern for a cute set of strawberry coasters. The pattern is composed of a colorwork chart and short written instructions for how to use the chart and make the stem.

Because coasters often hold hot objects, I would recommend using a natural fiber like wool or cotton. If you use wool, you should be aware that they will probably shrink if you wash them, unless you purposely felt them first. I designed these to be felted, but they don’t need to be.

I used four colors of Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift yarn. I already had the green yarn I used on hand for another project - you use so little of it I would recommend using a scrap yarn instead if you want to save money.

Colors:

  • MC: 525 Crimson
  • CC1: 526 Spice
  • CC2: 104 Natural White
  • CC3: 259 Leprechaun

These coasters are relatively small (4.75” x 3.5”) if you use the Spindrift yarn and felt them. They are intended for use in smaller spaces. If you prefer a larger coaster you could leave them unfelted or work in sport or DK yarn.
