Strawberry Toast
Strawberry Toast came about as I daydreamed about the perfect summer top for WeCrochet’s Shine Sport. This yarn is so silky and luxurious, and just begs to be worn next to skin. The challenge here is that it is a somewhat heavy yarn, even for sport. The cotton and Modal, while being absolutely delicious to the touch, are weighty, and designing something light for hot weather was so necessary. This top is crocheted top down, in the round, using a solid textured stitch for the bodice and some drapy, lacey stitchery for the rest of it. Perfect for the beach or even just a day around town. Strawberry Toast gets its name for the lacey part; turned upside down, don’t the stitches look like little toasts with strawberry jam on top?! Delightful.
