This hat is made in two simple pieces and seamed to create the ear holes. The hat sits on the head like an ear bonnet and must be held on with a headstall. English style bridles with a browband work best.

The pattern is for only one size but instructions for how to create a custom size are included. The pattern will fit any standard size horse 15-17hh (Thoroughbred, Appaloosa, Quarter Horse, etc). The model pictured is an Arabian.

Yardage is estimated for total project in a single color.

Hat body in variegated: 26 yds
Poll piece: 28 yds
Pompom: 24 yds
